The role of the Policy Sub Committee is to evaluate, revise and update current policies developed for Richmond Creche and Kindergarten. This process is completed in conjunction with staff, parents and the main committee.
The policy sub committee also undertake the project of “Value Our Children – Fund Our Care”, and looks at and deals with the crisis facing the child care industry for both parents and staff. This project involves keeping up to date with changes and issues within the industry and informing parents of these changes and the effects for both families and staff. It also involves advocating for childrens’ services and improvement within the industry as a whole.
The policy sub committee will meet regularly and/or when needs arise, and discussion from these meetings will be taken to the Main committee monthly.
The Process in which Policy can be changed or altered
- Sub committee develop/alter policy
- taken to parents and staff for feedback/comment
- Subcommittee alter/modify based on recommendations/feedback
- taken to Main Committee to pass/reject
- if passed -incorporated into the policy document, if rejected – the cycle needs to begin again
Policies cannot be changed/altered/developed under no circumstances until the above procedure has been followed.
